様々な語彙を使おう（形容詞②）

英検英作の採点基準の一つは「語彙」で、課題に相応しい語彙を正しく使っているかどうかが問われます。

前回に続き、印象的な形容詞の働きをする語彙とその例文を記していきたいと思います。

英作文の得点アップ対策として参考になれば幸いです。

iron-clad

・British lawmakers met the European Union's chief Brexit negotiator, seeking an iron-clad

guarantee that the 1.3million U.K. citizens in the bloc will not have their rights removed .

and their lives disrupted if Britain leaves the EU without a deal.

guarantee 「保証」　その後の that は同格の that です。

have their rights removed 「権利を剥奪される」 使役の have です。

iron-clad まさに文字通りの意味です。

分詞構文でもあります。

long-held / out-going

reiterate 「繰り返す」　

long-held まさに文字通りの意味です。その後の that は同格の that です。

out-going 文字通りの意味です。
