英検英作文に使えそうな表現⑥

以前にもお伝えした通り、英検英作の採点基準の一つは文構造がバリエーションに富んでいるかどうかという点です。

以下の文章は比較的短い中に、分詞構文・使役動詞・過去完了・過去分詞と様々な要素が含まれています。

・The president abruptly cancelled his diplomat's planned trip to the country, publicly

ackowledging for the first time that his effort to get Pyongyang denuclearize had stalled

since his summit with the leader there.

次の文は構造というよりも語彙に注目です。

・In more than three decades in Congress, he became known as a political maverick

willing to stick to his convictions rather than going along with party leaders - an

independent streak that has drawn a mix of respect and ire.
